Non-economic barriers to the penetration of Energy Transition Technologies in Latin America and the Caribbean

Technical barriers hinder the penetration of key technologies for clean energy supply in LatinAmerica and the Caribbean.The Region has great potential in natural resources for the generation of electricity with low carboncontent, and thus reducing dependence on fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. Thesedifferential characteristics of the region with respect to developed countries have implications forenergy transition, which could impact the deployment of clean technologies.
